You know it's going to be a great reception when the grand entrance is as joy-filled as this one was at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel... and we know we are going to have some fun with the photography when we see such a spirited couple entering the ballroom. Effective grand entrance photos can only happen when a photography team is ready to track the action, no matter the pace of the couple or the size of the crowd through which they weave to arrive at their spot of honor.
Photographing moving subjects can be tricky, especially keeping them in sharp focus as they move closer to the camera. This also applies to images of the bride coming down the isle and the couple walking away after the first kiss. This is where a little experience in sports photography comes in handy. Today's professional DSLR cameras and the newer mirrorless have the ability to track moving subjects, but these sophisticated focus modes have to be practiced and mastered, Joe has been photographing sports for as long as he has been photographing weddings in the past he worked for the California Angels, The Orange County Register, photographed Formula 1 racing and currently covers Porsche Club Racing and related events.
