The Laguna Beach landscape, in Orange County, California offers some of the most beautiful opportunities for sweeping, dramatic wedding photography. Though we associate beach communities with the ocean, we chose to focus on the majestic sky above as a backdrop to this romantic moment. In order to achieve a perfect silhouette effect we had to pose the bride and groom in an optimal profile position, so that their features remain distinct in shadow. We did not want to lose any of the impact of the bride's luxurious tiered ballgown, so we did bring up some of the detail of the dress in post production. The elegant skirt proved complimentary to the white swaths of clouds that seem painted across the azure sky. A grand portrait featuring the powerful earth's elements makes an excellent standalone image that can fill an entire album layout. Additions like that are sure to wow anyone who peruses its pages.
