At the Hotel Del Coronado's numerous reception rooms there are so many opportunities for lively wedding photography. Especially the iconic round grand ballroom with vaulted ceiling that gives the hotel building it's distinctive outline. The party rooms call to mind Old Hollywood glamor and offer sweeping ocean views, which look magical at night... so it is no wonder it is considered such a classic Southern California destination, and the perfect setting for a black tie affair. These newlyweds look so elegant in their formal attire, but what really makes them stand out is the fun they are having on the dance floor.
When photographing a first dance, we make sure to capture it from many different vantage points: intimate and romantic close ups, full body shots to document all our clients' impressive moves, and shots from a distance that capture the whole space and the reactions of the guests. First dances are so special because they contain all the exhilaration that comes with having just said "I do", and at the same time guests who are anticipating getting out on the dance floor themselves. Most of all, it is a moment that exists between the bride and groom before they join the party and share in the festivities with all their loved ones. Clearly these two are making the most of it!
