Our photography coverage of this Terranea Resort wedding began with the "getting ready" portion of the day, which we know is a fun opportunity to catch candid moments with the couple before all eyes are on them. We like to arrive just before the hair is done so we can get those last minute prepping photos of the bride and her bridesmaids. We do the same for the groom’s side.
At the time this photo was taken, Joe had gone to another area of Terranea Resort to photograph the guys getting ready and Mirta stayed with the bride and her bridesmaids. As the Bride was waiting to start with her hair, she saw her putting a little note into an envelope. She saw it was addressed to my “My Almost Husband” and thought that was adorable! She told her to hold it up and blow a kiss to her “almost husband”. The image captures the playfulness of the bride who was wonderful to work with. As wedding photographers one of our most important tasks is to observe. This is how we can capture our couple’s personalities. Directed and posed images are wonderful, but we also have to make sure we document the entire day, including everything that leads up to the ceremony.
