We love shooting engagement photos under the pier at Santa Monica Beach. This couple came prepared with a cute banner and a wonderful sense of play, as well as very stylish wardrobe choices. They had great intuition when it came to what would contribute to. a unique shoot they would be proud to show friends and family.
For clients who aren't sure what to wear or bring to an engagement session, or what to expect in general, we are happy to consult with them beforehand so they feel confident coming into the shoot. We usually recommend wearing something one might wear on a first date, and to also think about the location of the shoot when picking an outfit. For instance, one could pull off an evening gown/ formal suit combo at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, but that wouldn't necessarily be appropriate or comfortable at the pier. It's also fun to think about color coordinating in some way, as this couple did. Most importantly, a look should feel authentic to one's personality, as this will certainly shine through in photographs.
