This portrait of a popular Orange County DJ needed to be edgy, so we used dramatic, contrasty lighting and rendered the final image in black and white. The overhead "kicker" separates the subject from the background and also works as a hairlight.
The main light was a Profoto D1 in a Profoto Magnum reflector, the kicker was a Profoto B1 fitted with a small strip box with an egg crate grid.
