Barnet Photography captured this image of Formula 1 driver Arturio Merzario in the pit area during a Long Beach Grand Prix race weekend. Merzario, who was driving for Alfa Romeo, can be seen here decked out in a lot of company branding. Drivers are under contract to wear the logos and names of their sponsors...in this case that included the Marlboro cowboy hat.
It's not always easy to catch a driver in a moment of stillness, in the right light, for a close up like this. We are confident after so much time spent in the world of motorsports, that we've developed a keen, observant eye and a sense when it is convenient to take a shot, and when it's best to stay out of the way of the action.
