This image features one of two Ferraris at a Grand Prix race in Long Beach, California. The Southern California neighborhood hosted the event for several years, closing off streets to regular traffic and welcoming dedicated racing fans from all over the world.
Here we see Carlos Reutemann in his #11 Ferrari entering a hair pin turn on Shoreline Drive during the qualifying round. Interestingly, Reutemann would go on to a career in politics after many "turns" around the track. He was the governor of Santa Fe, Argentina during the 90's and early 2000's. Both pursuits are quite thrilling, though for very different reasons!
