This group of donors was photographed by Barnet Photography during a non profit fundraising event at the California Club in Downtown Los Angeles for the Theatre organization "A Noise Within" based in Pasadena, California. This Theatre had just finished construction of a beautiful, brand new theatre and was expanding their operation with the help of many donors and patrons of the Arts.
During these types of events, we at Barnet Photography realize that everyone we come in contact with is a VIP, and every single person must be treated with outmost curtesy and respect. They are there because they contribute to the Client's organization and need to look their best in our photographs. We need to be aware of who wants to be photographed with whom, give them time to "hide" their drinks if they choose to, direct, just a little, to make sure there are no awkward expressions or poses, etc.
I (Joe Barnet) worked in journalism for years, including The Orange County Register and the Wire Services, but in these types of events WE ARE NOT JOURNALISTS, we're not there to show things as they are, we're there to maker every one look good and help our client have a successful event with great photos to release to the media and to present to their valued contributors at a later time.
