Coverage of educational events is one of Barnet Photography's specialties. One of our Clients is a University that conducts Fellowship Programs where participants attend lectures, in a small group setting, by former US Government officials, prominent writers, and other experts in various fields. This particular speaker is William Bennett, former US Secretary of Education.
Participants of these lectures, as in Corporate Conventions "break out" groups, have limited time to spend with important speakers, so we need to work fast and still produce enough images to convey the nature and intensity of the session. Only one photographer will be in the room with limited gear and usually no lighting if possible. We do move around to capture overall images and close ups of speakers and other participants, but we do so quietly and only as much as we need to.
In this case the image was capture with window and room lighting only. A state of the art, professional camera that preforms very well in low light was used along with avery fast (low light friendly) prime lens. Some "tilting" was used when cropping this image to convey a sense of motion and activity.
