Performers Headshot Photography

This performer headshot style image could be part of the composite or "card" that actors and models use as their calling card, usually with a large image on the front side and 2 or 3 images on the back showing "range". Black and White images with hard light like this one are achieved by using metal reflectors like the Profoto Magnum or a silver beauty dish, as opposed to softer light achieved with a soft box. In this image the viewers eyes go right to the face because it's a light value in the image and the arms act as leading lines. Often images where the subject is not making eye contact with the camera have their own intensity of feeling.
